In introducing a Jack Russell Terrier named Jackson, I am aware pet owners are often misunderstood. Between, doggy clothes, pet cemeteries, pet jewelry, doggy daycares and doggy hotels, the hate or dismissal through a simple eye roll can be deserved. The above indulgences are billion-dollar service industries entirely dedicated to our furry family friends misconstrued as wasteful or an unnecessary splurge, to the uninitiated or “outsiders”, is often a misinformed position when it comes to the journey of people and their pet friends. I am included.
We plan to explore these bonds, intimacies, and ultimately growth. Some of our stories will be funny, others indulgent, and a few inspiring and uplifting. Obviously, it would not be a humane existence if this journey was devoid of boredom or worse still sadness. What I am trying to say is that pet relationship, with time, inspire real human connections. They conjure feelings that are just as strong and range from, comfort, happiness, loneliness, and laughter among many!
Picture receiving a 4th-year-old birthday gift in the form of a furry fluffy pup. The feelings! Imagine moving to a new house and the cat whose family used to live there frequently returning to visit and the new owners who are forced to love and connect with this persistent feline. The feelings! Then there is the one in the movie classic where a dog, unbeknownst to him that his owner has passed away, awaits the same time daily for his owner at the train station for him to return from work so they can walk home together. Again, the feelings in all these moments!
Jackson and I are no different to everyone out there in the ether and in real life. In introducing my Jack Russell Terrier named Jackson, this blog is aimed at sharing our memories, bonding experiences, and life adventures that, for better and for worse, test and enrich the human spirit.
As you will learn, in so many ways we are just like you, walks, the beach, delicious food, road and flight trips, we go through it all. However, we have chosen to share this gift of life and make many friends along the way. It will be through our blog or our social media posts.
