I absolutely love the color yellow. It’s not just a color… It makes me see and feel the world in hundreds of ways. It can be bright and happy like a sunrise run in the morning with my mom or an evening sunset stroll the boardwalk at the beach. Yellow is the color of both the sun and the moon, so I feel it’s consistency in creating the mood of my day.
I find yellow everywhere in my life. I love when I see the yellow lifeguard trucks at the beach rushing to someone who needs help. I immediately correlate that with – yellow means “safe“. Yellow is also the color of the writing on the bag of my favorite dog treats and that means to me “yummy“.
In addition, another thing that I love about yellow is that it represents Spring and Summer. These seasons always remind me of the sun, fun, noise, and play. These seem to be the seasons when everyone has more time to get outside and play with me and of course we can play with my yellow tennis balls that means “ Fetch and Catch”. I can also never forget about the yellow caution tape which lets me know not to go in a specific area… But I even like that yellow because I can go and chew that up.
There are so many different tones to the yellow color as well… Like the happy face emoji, as a matter fact, all basic emojis. I love the bright lemon color yellow for my collars and leashes because it makes me more easily seen while out and about. It also let’s people see us better when we’re walking when it starts to get dark. My mom loves lemon yellow because she uses lemons in her iced teas during the day and lemon in her fruity drinks at night. Lemon yellow puts me in a happy chipper mood… Same with her.
I love the soft tones of yellows in the pretty daisies, roses, and tulips that I see in the many gardens we observe on our daily walks. These yellows always make me feel kind of adorable while I’m barking at the squirrels and bunnies that run by. These soft pale yellows are very soothing and often calms my sometimes chaotic demeanor.
My mom wears a lot of yellow too. She can go for a very modern yellow to a very conservative reserved yellow. She wears black/yellow when she’s being hip, yellow/white when she feels like feeling sweet, yellow/pink when we go to brunch with the girls, yellow/blue when we’re playing at the beach, and yellows/khaki when she’s feeling a bit like Out of Africa.
In my eyes Yellow sets a mood, a season, a time of day, or even a kind of fashion. I would like to think I associate myself with the color yellow. Some have indicated that yellow might mean “Cowardly” … I say yellow is BOLD, CHEERY, and SMOOTH.
I call that “JACKSON YELLOW”.
