Can Dogs Eat Marshmallows?

Well it all started when I had some itching in my ears and my mom took me to the vet. He told us that he thought it might be allergies and he suggested my mom take me to a dermatology specialist to check for allergies.

It took a while to get an appointment with this specialist because she was very popular in her field and had a very good reputation for figuring out theses kinds of problems for us pups. I finally did get an appointment to see this doctor. She is located in Marina Del Rey in Southern California. Her name is Dr Kirby. While there she explained it would be a lengthly process and we would have to commit to everything she instructed us to do. There would have to be several blood panels conducted and sent out to test what either environmental, food, or both are causing my allergy issues.

The next step was to take me off all of my regular food for 8 weeks and only eat the doctor recommended non allergenic kibble made by a company called Royal Canin- Ultimimo. This was to get all of the old food out of my system and allergies until they got the results of the test panels the doctor ran. This also meant, I could not have any treats that my mom used to give me for good deeds.

During the 8 week period of my restricted diet, my mom noticed I was really missing my treats. it was our fun time! She finally asked Dr Kirby, “Isn’t there please any treat I could give Jackson once or twice a day in the meantime? It’s an important time for Jackson and I to relax and let Jackson know what a good boy he is.” Perhaps just a little something?

The doctor did reply, “yes”. There is one treat you may give him. It is the tiny Vegan Baby Marshmallows. These tiny marshmallows, in most cases cause no allergic issues. You may give him just a few a day (3-4) little ones. They are actually called n”Dandies” :-). They have nothing unnatural in them. They are vegan, non GMO, and are made with only sugar and water. These marshmallows can be used for the breif time while we are in the process of getting the results and figure out what he can safely eat without reaction. In the meantime it can be a tasty and happy treat you guys can both enjoy for Jackson. This is when I found out dogs could eat marshmallows. I was so happy to have a fun treat and I love Marshmallows. I absolutely love them ! !

Well, after we finally figured out what I was allergic to…which turned out to be mostly environmental… like some trees, plants, and dust that especially kicked up on windy days , we were in business on managing me feeling much better. I don’t have much in the way of food allergies, but after all this, my mom has put me on an all grass fed beef and butternut squash diet. I love it. The new treats she gives me are blue berries and all grass fed dried beef jerky treats. I love the ones from Sunday for Dogs.. They’re yummy.
